Looking to provide: peace of mind
(Not yet rated)
- I live in a House
- My Outdoor area is Medium (Fenced)
About me:
I grew up on in a coastal country town in South Australia and have lived in Queensland since the late 90’s. The latter half of my life I have lived in the cities so I am accustomed to both worlds. For the past 2-3 years I have been based in the Whitsunday’s with a retired friend for whom I’m house-sitting for the month of March.
For the past two years I have been traveling overseas and Australia. I have just returned from Africa and am looking to resettle in Melbourne, but want to experience different areas before “settling.”
I don’t smoke and you could say I don't drink, but occasionally I do; on average equivalent of about 1-2 glasses a month (yes, a month, not a week). I’m in my mid 30’s, although my friends call me Nan because I am more of a home body and like plants and animals. I fail to see how knowing what a Phalaenopsis and a handful of other plant names makes me a Nanna, but I think you get the idea, I’m not exactly a party animal and probably not much different to a retired person!
Before I went traveling I worked in Medical Administration as a Practice Manager, mostly working for surgeons, but have worked in a few fields. Prior to that I had my own remedial massage business until I had surgery on my wrists. I spent a few years at university, but was financially unable to finish. I hope one day to return now that many courses are offered online.
I am really trying to perfect the art of photography so I spend a fair amount of time on my laptop and dragging around a DSLR. I am also about to start trying to learn Spanish and French, because I find these languages widely used when traveling and growing up in the days before the internet, sadly we didn’t have the opportunity to learn another language. I am looking to find part time work eventually in Melbourne, but not at the expense of looking after your home or spending time with animals… I know how my animals are without people around, so animals are my first priority. I also know animals know when people aren’t animal people, so I like to spend as much time as possible making animals feel like I am their new best friend.
About me looking after your house and my experience:
In the past I have looked after homes in Sydney, Queensland and South Australia looking after pets, pools and gardens. I have also had long term rentals (some requiring 2hrs mowing each week in the rain season) and can provide referees for my times house sitting, renting and as a house mate. I have also had good and bad experiences with other people house sitting my own place, so understand the importance of reliability and trust, especially with pets, pools and gardens. I am more than happy to keep you updated whilst you are away be it whatever mode of communication you prefer (email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype). Alternatively if you don’t want to know about it all and just want to escape that is also easy.
I have always treated houses as homes, wanting to keep on top of maintenance and cleanliness. I’m not afraid to fix things, assuming I don’t think I will make the problem worse or if it could be dangerous. I like to keep houses ‘bond clean’ worthy, but I am not bothered at all by how others keep their house so I won’t be turning your house upside down. I will keep your house just as you left it for me, as I feel that is the point of having someone look after your house. I love animals and am at ease with animals of any nature (I also grew up on a farm) and I have had my own city dog for 11 + years. She lives a life of luxury being towelled dry every day after her swim, mainly to keep the place from muddy prints! She is currently keeping an older friend company in Qld., so I will be alone. I have my own car which at this stage, I will be driving down to Melbourne. So should you pets need or enjoy being taken anywhere (eg: the beach), I am happy to oblige.
I can’t think of all the things you might want to ask, so feel free to ask any questions and I'm sure we can work things out. Happy to provide police check and references/referees
***I am hoping to be in Melbourne March 2nd for a few days only so that you 'might' have a chance to meet me and work out if I am the right person to look after your home and fur babies from April 2015 onwards (earlier negotiable). ******
